KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Head the Legal Department
- Legal contract and agreement preparation
- Support the business as it looks to expand into new markets and new products to trade
- Oversee Compliance within the Group
- Oversee Company Secretarial activity within the Group
2. Deliver high standard legal and compliance guidance from a commercial perspective
- The business continues to expand, taking advantage of new commercial opportunities as they arise. Legal counsel will need to partner the business every step of the way providing sound guidance, recommendations and leveraging experience to draw up legal contracts & agreements that ensure Viant is legally protected and at the same time compliant of all regulations and laws. Examples of typical contracts we have are loan agreements, warehouse agreements, insurance documents, CMA documentation, bilateral bank facilities, brokerage agreements, repo agreements
- Support project work – JV or M&A
- Support the business to ensure there are no breaches of the compliance policy. In particular with respect to AML, Sanctions etc
- Manage any claims and disputes
- Facilitate the setting up of entities in new jurisdictions
- Involvement in liaising with internal and external parties (NDA’s, master agreements, employee agreements, bank facility documentation and many other types of agreement)
3. Implementation of legal and compliance policies and guidelines
- Whilst the Group has policies in place today, they are considered to be live documents that require constant update to ensure alignment with external requirements and also to suit our evolving business.
- Ensure adherence to the policy is monitored and escalate to senior management any breaches immediately
- Support the reportee in carrying out any compliance duties
- Support the reportee and advise with respect to the new counterparty onboarding processes (KYC)
4. Support the reportee in carrying out company secretarial activities
- The company secretary is responsible for ensuring the company is compliant regarding its administrative and reporting requirements mandated by law in different jurisdictions
- Oversight of board resolutons
- Oversight of communications to shareholders and other investors
- Ensure the company meets all of its legal obligations
5. Ensure Viant is keeping up with change
- Stay abreast of relevant legal developments that may affect the sector
- Stay abreast of relevant developments and changes in statutory and regulatory obligations
6. Any adhoc projects in the legal counsel scope as required
- From time to time new things will come up outside the scope of responsibilities mentioned above but still fall within the scope of legal

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead the HR Department
- Manage, create, implement and supervise policies and regulations which are mandatory ofr all employees
- Monitor attendance and leave
- Oversee the payroll process via our outsourced payroll provider
- Support the PR drive in the Group
- Be aware of legal requirements in different jurisdictions regarding labour law and ensure the Group remains in compliance at all times
2. Responsible for attracting talent to the organisation
- Understand the recruitment needs in the Group both now and potentially in the future
- Coordinate the interview process
- Employee contractual agreements
- Help to develop an employer brand
- Develop good working relationships with our network of recruiters
- Leverage relevant social media for hiring
3. Responsible for Training
- Develop a training program so employees can better understand our business
- This may be in-house or external training depending on the specific employee, specific role needs etc
4. Responsible for Professional Development and the Appraisal Process
- The retention of staff goes hand in hand with providing the platform for them to develop professionally. For key staff in the organisation develop plans for professional development that help support them in their current roles as the organisation expands.
- All employees should be very clear on what their key responsibilities are within their team and what their departments role and responsibility is within the organisation. Work with function managers to achieve this
- Run the annual appraisal process including objective setting in conjunction with line managers
5. Responsible for maintaining work culture and employee relations
- Maintain a healthy, safe and fun work environment in keeping with Viant's culture.
- Work to eliminate any awkward situations or atmosphere that may negatively impact the group or affect the performance of staff
- Resolve conflict and map out unbiased and practical solutions
- Maintain an open door policy with the team to build up a good rapport with the staff

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Match and check trade tickets to Reuter and brokers confirmation on trade date
- Working with front office to resolve any differences on pricing, volume, counterparty and mark to market (MTM) intent trading desk; daily risk management of trading positions
- Daily monitoring and validation of ancillaries and related profit and loss statements (P&L)
- Daily validation of business summaries and deal blotters from front office to make certain that new business deals are correctly illustrated in the system
- Validate trading contracts in SGP/China before execution
- Observing exposure to mark to market (MTM) prices and curves while ascertaining profit and loss statements (P&L) impact when curve or price updates are inaccessible by the Global End of Day deadline
- Publish daily trading profit and loss statements (P&L)
REQUIREMENTS
- Master Degree in major of Finance or Banking, or relevant degree
- Over 1 year working experience as middle office or risk control in Trading house
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel skills and IT systems
- Strong analytical skills, attention to details with an inquiring mind
- In-depth understanding of mark to market (MTM), market/price volatilities and important energy trading strategies
- Proficiency in Chinese is preferred
